A Mayan city whose fabulous art has beguiled collectors for decades but whose true location was until now a mystery has been pinpointed in the jungles of northern Guatemala.
'Site Q' had been a Holy Grail of archaeology since a set of Mayan artworks from about 700AD showed up in museums in the 1970s.
Researchers have found a sculpture at ruins known as La Corona that matches the gallery pieces.
La Corona lies within Laguna del Tigre national park, which teems with drug-traffickers, clandestine loggers and illegal ranchers.
