1 Clinton and Warren on stage
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is offering effusive praise for popular Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren at their first event together, calling her someone who "tells it like it is". Warren called Clinton a fighter who "has never backed down". Clinton said in Cincinnati, Ohio, that Warren "gets under Donald Trump's thin skin" and Warren called Trump an "insecure money grubber" who is driven by greed and hate.
2 EgyptAir crash possible manslaughter
The Paris prosecutor's office is investigating the crash of EgyptAir flight MS804 as a possible manslaughter, as the doomed jet's black box memory chips are being repaired in France. The prosecutor said it was not looking into terrorism as a possible cause of the crash at this stage.
3 Zuma should repay $721,700
South Africa's President Jacob Zuma should pay 7.8 million rand ($721,700) for non-security upgrades to his private Nkandla home, the National Treasury says. The top court in March ordered Zuma to pay back some of the US$16 million of state money spent upgrading his private home. The court gave the Treasury 60 days to work out a "reasonable cost".
4 Millions awarded to singer's family
A Florida jury says Pedro Pablo Barrientos Nunez, a former military officer in the regime of Chile's brutal dictator Augusto Pinochet, tortured and killed a Chilean folk singer Victor Jara more than 40 years ago and is awarding his family - which lives in the US - US$28 million.
5 Turkey's diplomatic moves
Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, has apologised for the downing of a Russian military jet at the Syrian border, the Kremlin said, an unexpected move that could open the way for easing a bitter strain in Russia-Turkey ties. And Israel and Turkey struck a broad reconciliation pact that will restore full diplomatic relations after six years of animosity between the once-close powers.
