TIRANA, Albania (AP) Albanian police say they have caught four of seven inmates who escaped from a jail compound in southeastern Albania on Saturday.
One was found a few hours after the escape close to the Drenove jail 180 kilometers (110 miles) southeast of the capital, Tirana.
Three others were caught early Sunday afternoon after a short exchange of fire some 80 kilometers (50 miles) away from the prison.
Albania's interior and justice ministers said Sunday three other people have been arrested as collaborators in the escape. Investigators are questioning prison guards and officials.
The escaped convicts were all serving life sentences for murder.
