Former US vice president Al Gore's son has been charged with drug possession after being caught speeding in his hybrid car last month.
Albert Gore III, 24, has been charged with two felony counts of possessing a controlled substance and two misdemeanour counts of possessing a drug without prescription, according to the Orange Country District Attorneys office.
Police found marijuana and prescription drugs in the car after he was stopped.
He could face over three years in prison, but may be eligible for a drug diversion programme.
Gore has a history of drug and driving offences.
