Dope "pedalling" took on a whole new meaning in recent days after United States border police nabbed two Mexicans smuggling bundles of marijuana into the US loaded on bicycles.
Border Patrol agents in Calexico, California, said: "The two individuals were observed getting out of the raft and dragging what appeared to be large bundles of contraband on to the shoreline [of the All American Canal]."
Agents arrested the two men as they pedalled along a darkened farm road with 50kg of pot valued at US$88,000 ($116,000) packed into carry bags.
