KABUL - A blast at an ammunition dump in a northern Afghan village killed 28 people and wounded 70 on Monday, a government spokesman said.
"The whole neighbourhood around the ammunition dump has been destroyed," said Interior Ministry spokesman Lutfullah Mashal.
The cause of the blast in Pajga village in Baghlan province, 120 km north of the capital, Kabul, was being investigated, he said.
