Adopted man discovers he grew up in the same town as his birth family

A 49-year-old man was reunited with his birth family after finding out he had lived down the street from them in Ohio his entire life.

Steve Taylor was given up for adoption in 1966. His mother already had six children and didn't think she could handle having another, TODAY USA reported.

Steve's adopted parents Willard and Grace Taylor were struggling to conceive a second child when they decided to take him in.

"When he was younger, we would go up to people who looked like him to find out anything we could to connect him with his family, but obviously had no luck," Willard told TODAY USA.

Later down the track Steve and his wife had a child of their own. Their child was born with Nemothorax, a condition which caused the lungs to collapse.

Steve was concerned about the condition and decided to search for his birth family to learn more about it in case someone else in his family was also suffering from the same condition, TODAY USA reported.

When Steve obtained his records, he found out that his birth mother lived in the same town where he spent his whole life. Sadly though, she had passed away.

"I felt like I lost someone I'd known my whole life," Steve said.

Steve later found his older sister Rhonda who he says has been his "lifeline" through it all.

He also reunited with his other siblings- his three sisters and two brothers.

His sisters said finding out they had a brother was like holding a newborn for the first time and they couldn't imagine their life without him now.
