TRIPOLI, Libya (AP) A commander of a militia aligned with police that had kidnapped the daughter of Libya's ex-spy chief says she has been freed.
Haitham el-Tajouri of the militia that kidnapped Anoud el-Senoussi said that she was handed over to her tribe in southern Libya late Saturday after the country's prime minister negotiated her release.
Anoud, daughter of former dictator Moammer Gadhafi's intelligence chief and top aide Abduallah el-Senoussi, had been kidnapped on Monday after leaving a prison in Tripoli where she visited her father.
The Megraha tribe of el-Senoussi had cut off the flow of water to the capital for around three days to press for her release.
Hisham Hassan, a spokesman for the International Commission of the Red Cross in Libya, confirmed el-Senoussi's release Sunday.
