At least 80 people died and 400 were missing after a landslide triggered by torrential rain swept away entire villages in eastern Uganda, the Ugandan Red Cross said yesterday.
The side of the hill began to slide after an intense seven-hour downpour in the mountainous region of Bududa, which lies at the bottom of Mount Elgon.
