A magnitude 6.2 quake has hit near Papua New Guinea.
The US Geological Survey said the quake struck at 8.28am local time (11.28am NZT) at a depth of 33km.
It was centred 125km west of Arawa, in Bougainville, and 885km from Papua New Guinea's capital Port Moresby.
AFP news agency quoted a seismologist at the Geological Survey of Papua New Guinea as saying there had been "moderate shaking" but no damage.
