43 die in stampede in India

Forty-three people were trampled to death and 42 injured in a stampede during the distribution of flood relief supplies in India.

Police in Chennai said the stampede happened when it began to rain during the distribution at a school. "People rushed to safer places, leading to the stampede," a spokesman said.
