Convicted child sex offender David Shane Whitby has been jailed for more than three decades for his "evil" crimes.
Victims of the "committed and enthusiastic paedophile" include a 14-month-old baby girl, who was filmed by Whitby screaming even as he approached her before taking off her nappy.
The vile acts, often filmed by Whitby, comprised the assault - including rape - of eight children over a 10-year period.
Judge Peter Berman on Friday described the outrages as much worse than those of notorious child sex offender Robert "Dolly" Dunn.
Whitby was convicted of 120 offences earlier this year after a judge-only trial at Sydney's Downing Centre District Court. He denies the crimes.
In sentencing on Friday, Judge Berman said: "Although he shares with Dolly Dunn the attribute of being a committed and enthusiastic pedophile, his obsession and level of depravity were much worse".
A police investigator was among several people who began to cry and left the courtroom on Friday as Judge Berman detailed the assault on the baby, which ended with Whitby's ejaculation over her body after trying unsuccessfully to ejaculate in the girl's mouth.
"The offences which I will now refer to represent an aspect of human behaviour that is as disturbing as anything I have previously encountered," Judge Berman said.
"I have never seen one human being mistreat another in such a vile, disgusting and perverted manner as I saw in that video recording."
The majority of offences for which Whitby was convicted were committed against a boy, aged eight to 13 years.
The court had been told the boy was plied with money, alcohol and drugs before the offences, which included oral and anal sex, and acts with dildos and carrots.
Judge Berman said the victim had developed "major depression and a major anxiety disorder".
DVDs seized from Whitby's home at the time of his arrest in 2008 included footage of him assaulting children, sometimes whilst wearing a suspender belt, stockings, a body suit, mask and black high heel boots.
Judge Berman mentioned during sentencing his reluctance to publicise details of Whitby's offending for fear it "may give perverted pleasure to people like the offender".
"But it is important that the community understand why I have imposed the sentences I have, and it is also important that everyone is made well aware that there are people like Mr Whitby in the world, and the depths to which they are prepared to sink," he said.
"It is necessary to describe the evil that men do because, as Shakespeare reminds us, that evil lives after them."
Throughout his trial, Whitby maintained his innocence and claimed the man in the footage was a former acquaintance of similar appearance.
Outside court on Friday, one of Whitby's victims, who cannot be named for legal reasons, spoke of her continuing trauma.
"I speak for other victims, as well as for myself, when I say no jail sentence will ever take away the pain, trauma and suffering we all have and will continue to endure," she told reporters after Whitby's sentencing.
"Justice may have been served but the memories and the nightmares never fade."
Whitby was sentenced to 32 years prison with a non-parole period of 26 years, meaning that with time already served, he will be eligible for parole September 2034.
