PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (AP) Three high-ranking officials in Haiti have narrowly survived no-confidence votes in Parliament.
More than a dozen of the 18 voting senators backed censure for Justice Minister Jean Renel Sanon, Foreign Affairs Minister Pierre-Richard Casimir and Interior Minister David Bazile.
But a vote to remove a Cabinet minister requires 16 votes.
Opposition lawmakers blame the officials for many of the impoverished country's problems. Some complained about last month's detention of an opposition figure, which so angered his supporters they raided the courthouse where he was being questioned. Sanon said he had nothing to do with the detention.
The vote came close to midnight Tuesday.
