The mother of a 12-year-old girl swept over a weir on Queensland's Sunshine Coast has appealed to people to take care in floodwaters. Parts of the coast received up to 200mm of rain in 24 hours, flooding homes and businesses and stranding motorists. A search continues for Brandi Allen, who was swimming at Caboolture. Her mother, Deanna Allen, warned of the dangers of swimming in swollen creeks or rivers no matter how good a swimmer you think you are.
