1. A suspected Isis suicide bomber has killed 10 people in Istanbul's Sultanahmet tourist district. At least 9 of the victims were German. A further 15 people were injured. The area is a mecca for tourists with the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and markets there. Of 23.6 million people who visited Turkey in 2014, Germans were the largest group at 5.1 million, the BBC reports.
2. A police officer and security guard were each shot in the leg at Nepean Hospital in Sydney's west. A 39-year-old man has been arrested after grabbing the officer's gun in a scuffle. There were reports a man had been threatening a doctor with scissors.
3. US Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton has proposed a tax 'surcharge' on Americans who earn over US$5 million. The move would affect only 0.02 per cent of Americans but the top rate would be the highest since 1986.
4. Mumbai police have identified 16 no-selfie zones where people will be warned against photographing themselves. The move is in response to a drowning, AFP reports. A man drowned trying to save a girl who fell into the sea while taking a selfie. Police want warning signs up at such points and lifeguards.
