KEY POINTS:
Fiji will ramp up safety checks on buses after an accident left 10 dead and others seriously burned when a bus caught fire on the main island of Viti Levu.
Ten people, including a pregnant woman and two of her children, died in the fire near Sigatoka at 11pm on Thursday.
The Fiji Times said yesterday that interim Transport Minister Timoci Natuva had called for buses to be checked every six months instead of each year.
