Situation:
A slow-moving front over the north of the North Island weakens tomorrow. Meanwhile a ridge over the central and southern New Zealand retreats to east, and a couple of weak cold fronts move northeast over the south of the South Island, followed by another ridge late tomorrow. On Tuesday, a broad trough affects the upper part of both islands, in a humid east to northeast flow. On Wednesday and Thursday, a low is expected to deepen east of the South Island, spreading strong to gale southerlies across southern and central New Zealand.
