Situation:
Southerly flow remains over New Zealand today as a deep low-pressure continues to move eastward away from the North Island. Meanwhile, a ridge of high pressure begins to move onto the South Island today, before spreading over the remainder of the country tomorrow. A ridge of high pressure spans the country on Monday. On Tuesday, moist northwesterly flow strengthens over the south of the South Island while the ridge covers the North Island. On Wednesday a moist northwesterly flow affects the South Island while the ridge moves away to the east.
