Area Description:

The Bay of Islands and inshore waters from Cape Brett to the Poor Knights Islands to Bream Head.

Situation:

A south to southwest flow lies over the country, while a low lies east of New Zealand. This flow eases on Monday as a ridge builds over the South Island. On Tuesday, the ridge moves north onto the North Island, while a cold front moves onto the lower South Island. This cold front moves onto the North Island on Wednesday, followed by another ridge over the South Island. This front weakens over the North Island on Thursday, but a southerly flow persists over much of the country.
