Whanganui's second annual Santa Run attracted a crowd of around a hundred athletic Santa Clauses.
"Kidscan is supporting underprivileged kids locally, we have got some schools that they support locally here," said Jodie Brunger, one of the event's organisers.
While some fundraisers are about selling chocolate - this one is kinder to the waistline. Participants run, walk, and wheel around Virginia Lake, a popular running track for locals.
Participants, young and old, love the event.
"I've been doing the run for two years it's pretty cool, I've been coming down with my family," said Hunter Gibson, a Santa wrangler.
"It is my first year doing the event, I'm looking forward to running around the lake in a Santa suit," said Maggie Jones, a Santa wrangler.
The Santa Run is not only a Whanganui event - its staged in 19 centres around the country, with over 5000 people taking part.
"It's quite hard case seeing a hundred odd santas run around Virginia Lake, It's good fun," said Ms Brunger.
