Six months ago, this was a deserted section. Now a community bike park is underway in Whanganui, with the first stage open for the kids.
"The project started with the community, and the kids wanting somewhere to ride. We then approached the council, who donated this bit of land for us and we decided to build a pump track," says Doug Rennie, the projects organiser.
Local businesses have also donated time money and resources, to get the project up and running.
Eight-year-old Harry Jurgens, thinks it's fantastic, "My favourite thing is probably the little jumps, so we can do little stunts."
Zoe Bullock, who's also eight, is another fan, "I really like doing jumps and I just find biking really fun so it's really cool to go on a track, on a biking track."
