Woman climbs into x-ray because she didn't want to leave her bag

These bizarre photographs show a female passenger who climbed into a train station X-ray machine because she did not trust security staff with her handbag.

The female commuter went to extreme lengths to keep her bag on her person following it through the security scanner.

An unbelievable picture shows the unnamed woman on all fours on the conveyor belt at Dongguan Railway Station in China's southern Guangdong Province.

It is thought the woman did not want to be separated from her handbag and its valuable contents.

The woman had happily put her suitcases through the machine before walking through the security checkpoint holding the smaller handbag.

Security staff told her that this bag would also have to be checked and she reluctantly circled back to the airport-style luggage scanner.

She placed her purse on the conveyor belt and then climbed on herself so she could ensure the safety of her bag and the valuables inside.

Stunned security officers were left speechless and did not stop the woman who collected her other bags before going to catch her train.

It is unclear what the woman was carrying in her handbag but it is likely to have been wads of cash traditionally given as a gift for Chinese New Year.

Dongguan Railway Station staff have advised passengers not to ride the X-ray machines saying radiation given off by the scanners can be harmful.
