In Tromso, Norway's northernmost town, the northern lights are a beautiful, common sight.

The magical phenomenon of Aurora Borealis is best viewed in early spring or autumn, due to 24 hour daylight in summer.
And right now is a fantastic time to bask in their presence, judging by recent pictures.
Yesterday, paraglider Horacio Llorens braved sub-zero temperatures to glide through and "dance" with the lights in Tromso - decked out in a wetsuit and battery-operated heated gloves, of course.
The town has plenty more wintery activities on offer as well, including husky sledding and whale safaris.
