At the beginning and end of every week, we dream about where we'd rather be

There's such a thing as too much warm weather.

While sweating it out in work clothes in Auckland's humidity this morning, we couldn't help but fantasise about the crisp mountain air and perfect powdery snow of northern Japan.

Niseko is one of the most famous Japanese ski resorts among international skiers and snowboarders.

Located in Japan's northernmost island Hokkaido, cold weather systems from the nearby Sea of Japan help produce the deep, dry powder Niseko is famous for.

And what better backdrop than the peak of Mount Yotei, a postcard-perfect representation of a snowy mountain.
