Winter festival takes to the air

The biennial Wine Country Winter Festival runs in Napier and Hastings from Friday to July 6.

There is a wide variety of events, exhibitions and performances ranging from balloon flights, lantern parades and harvest celebrations that are part of Matariki, the Maori New Year, to performances of Romeo and Juliet by the Royal New Zealand Ballet.

A winter ball, theatre performances, art exhibitions and poetry readings make the next four weeks a great time to visit Hawkes Bay.
