Don't get me wrong, I love my colleagues. Good people. I even like the company I work for, and — bizarrely — I like the building I work in.
But I spent the best bits of my summer break yarning with family around the barbecue, gasbagging with mates around the campsite and teaching my son how to fish in a creek that had no fish in it.
We got the best of the weather, the best of the cold beers and, thankfully, the best of the kids' behaviour. Condolences to those holidaymakers who suffered in last week's storms.
Naturally, the transition back to work (I was *ahem* back at my desk on January 3, thanks for your concern) was a tough one.
