It's the kind of industry that appeals to New Zealand First - tourists' spending money gets delivered automatically into the regions. Now those are the kind of foreigners New Zealand First supporters can like!
Peters is keen on the tourist taxes with which both the major parties are enamoured though weirdly (and worryingly) the party's website list of policies doesn't have a section for "Tourism" ("Superannuation" is there, as is "Senior Citizens"). Could it be our biggest income-earning industry isn't on Peters' radar?
