I love the buzz around new airline routes. And today there's a real hum around Barack Obama's visit to New Zealand. The little birdies have been chattering about Air New Zealand starting up a new service to Chicago for as long as their Dreamliners have been airborne.
Word was that an announcement on Chicago had been postponed for later in the year.
Suddenly, word is they'll announce it tomorrow, capitalising on the presence last week of Chicago's favourite son, Obama, on these shores. It's a cracking town.
Maybe there'll just be an announcement on more services to Hawaii — another noted Obama spot.
I'd say the odds at the moment are: Chicago 50/50; no new destination: 40/50; Hawaii 10/1; Kenya (just to wind up the Trumpers) 100/1.
