I'm a very lucky plane nerd. In the course of my job, I've done a loop-the-loop in a fighter jet, I've flown the longest flight in the world in First Class and I've gawped in wonder at the simple bliss of my daughter sleeping her way to Disneyland on Skycouch. Those moments are high on my personal plane-nerd, greatest-hits list.
But the greatest thing I've ever encountered in aviation, is the bar on the Emirates A380. It's a flying pub - Richard Pearse (in all his awesomeness) never envisioned such a thing.
I often seem to see the Emirates A380s flying overhead when I'm performing mundane domestic tasks - hanging the washing or mowing the lawn. I'm a little sad that Emirates is reducing their service into Auckland.
