I took my kids — and their best friends — to Waitangi a couple of years ago. They sped around the Treaty Grounds. They loved it — though to be fair they love doing pretty much anything with their best mates. The big waka impressed them, the haka dazzled them and I wished they had slowed down on their way through the museum.
As David Fisher, "It's a place to immerse yourself in the beauty of the surrounds and the history of this site."
The Bay of Islands — birthplace of the Treaty — is magic. But it's just one of the jewels in our stunning country. Today in Travel, we're celebrating some of the places that make this land so great. Get out and see them.
