Huhu grubs, wild pork and venison, sheep brains and garden snails are on the menu for the Wild Foods Festival this weekend.
Every March, Hokitika's population swells with the arrival of 20,000 "foodies" who also enjoy the local brews of moonshine and beer.
A tour by Opawa's Mainland Coaches heads to the festival this Friday, returning on Sunday evening. The bus tour costs $255 a person and includes bed and breakfast accommodation at Hokitika.
