Do you travel light or heavy?
I'd like to say that I travel light, but it doesn't always happen.
Cattle or first class?
It all depends on who is paying! I'm 6ft 4 so I always get an emergency exit row, it makes all the difference.
What's always in your hand luggage?
I always have a great book, a thriller or historical novel. I also know what NOT to take in your hand luggage - I once made the mistake of packing my knives in the wrong suitcase and got four expensive chef's knives confiscated at gunpoint in Singapore airport.
What's the best thing you've brought back from a business trip?
I'm always on the lookout for kitchenware at markets. I love Asia as there is always something to pick up at a good price. On a recent South American trip I bought an authentic panama hat, which I love. It comes in a small box like a wooden pencil case.
Favourite or most exciting airport to land in?
Bangkok and Singapore airport are pretty amazing as they are huge and have everything. If I have time I'll get a massage, which really sets you up for the next leg of the trip.
Are you a planner or a last-minute packer?
I did 42 flights in 2009, always last-minute. However, the upside is now I can do it in my sleep!
Your most memorable trip?
My honeymoon to Lucca in Tuscany. We stayed at a small organic farm run by a friend of mine. It's a gorgeous place, with great food and hospitality.
