Do you travel light or heavy?
Light, on business and leisure. With family, there is no room for my stuff anyway with a 6-month-old in tow!
Cattle or first class?
Cattle. Having been through many a 16-hour plus South American bus journey, economy is a picnic. I live in hope of encountering that urban myth, the mysterious "upgrade".
I can't travel without...
A flute of Champagne before departure, usually Moet. I am always at peace with the world after a glass of Champagne.
What type of suitcase to you carry?
Small, cabin size wheely number. Longer trips, a backpack - it makes me think I'm still 21.
Are you a planner or last minute packer?
Last minute, by which point my fiancee has usually packed for me. Perfect.
What's the best thing you've brought back from a trip?
My fiancee, Amanda.
Favourite or most exciting airport to land in?
Heathrow. Going home is always a special feeling and when flying over London, I always enjoy spotting familiar landmarks. It reminds me that nothing has really changed.
Best travel tip?
Get to know a few places really well. That's when you fall in love with them and create special memories.
Most memorable trip?
24-hours on a Bolivian train with a mate, knees wedged against the wooden seat in front, 30+ degrees and high humidity. With several stops throughout the night next to mosquito-infested swamps, and of course all the windows were open due to the heat. Impossible for us to sleep at all although all the locals snored throughout. The beer at the end was probably the best ever.
What do you do while on the plane?
In heavy turbulence, buy Dom Perignon from onboard duty free. I might as well go out in style.
