My iPod, whether it's to learn a new opera or just for my own listening, my iPod is a must-have.
What type of suitcase do you carry?
A huge Samsonite hard surface suitcase which is always half empty when I head off but at full capacity when I return, due to the aforementioned shopping.
What's always in your hand luggage?
My iPod, lipstick, mascara, jewellery, hairbrush, music, phone and purse. Little essentials.
Are you a planner or last-minute packer?
Mentally I plan, but I pack at the last minute.
What's the best thing you've brought back from a trip?
Income! The life of an opera singer means trips are invariably for work.
Favourite or most exciting airport to land in?
Auckland Airport; there's no place like home.
Best packing tip?
Roll your clothes - never fold. You can fit so much more in if you roll.
Most memorable trip?
When I was quite a bit younger and blonder, I had my first taste of Europe, a memory that will always stay with me. Amsterdam was somewhere I'll never forget. It was an exciting time to be in a place like that and I really felt like the world was my oyster.
