Do you travel light or heavy?

If you ask my husband, he'd probably say I pack heavy. It all goes downhill when I try to decide which shoes to take and end up with 10 or so pairs - just in case.

Cattle or first class?

Cattle of course. I like to ride with real people and hear real stories.

I can't travel without ...

Most definitely a book.

What type of suitcase do you carry?

I have a great red and blue suitcase with wheels. I love it, makes all those shoes easier to carry.

What's always in your hand luggage?

Dental floss and moisturiser, no matter where I go.

Favourite or most exciting airport to land in?

Taiwan for sure. Although I've lived in NZ for more than 16 years and this is my home, Taiwan is where I grew up and I still have many friends and family there, the second they announce we are going to land I get tears in my eyes.

Best packing tip?

Always take a pair of comfortable shoes with you. I find that when you're travelling you always end up walking a lot and it's well worth the extra weight to have some comfy shoes.

Most memorable trip?

In 2004, I went to live in New York for eight months by myself, it was very exciting. I studied design at Parsons and did an internship with a New York designer. I met some fantastic people , many of whom I still keep in touch with today.

What do you do while on the plane?

It's the perfect time to catch up on all the girly movies that my husband doesn't want to watch.
