Do you travel light or heavy?

Light.

Cattle or first class?

Business for a 6'3" stretch.

I can't travel without ...

a book.

What type of suitcase do you carry?

Soft expandable - just in case.

What's always in your hand luggage?

A light jersey for the freezing air conditioning.

Are you a planner or last-minute packer?

Planner - a week in advance.

What's the best thing you've brought back from a trip?

Silver jewellery from North Finland. Looks as if it was inspired by ice crystals. All my daughters have pieces.

Favourite or most exciting airport to land in?

Auckland, coming home.

Best packing tip?

Plastic resealable bags for shirts.

Most memorable trip?

Most memorable was a work trip to North India on the train from Ludhiana to Amritsar and on to the border-crossing gate into Pakistan. In Amritsar there is the magnificent Golden Temple, but the highlight is the closing of the gate ceremony. If you are lucky you can catch a glimpse of the high-stepping guards. Then back to the train station and a samosa on the train, the nearest I can find to a good pie.
