Ha ha - my passport, but seriously, the latest Vanity Fair or biography and my iPhone for local info and maps when I arrive.
What type of suitcase do you carry?
My Tumi suitcarrier - expensive at the time, but I've had it for years and years. I figure quality remains long after price is forgotten.
What's always in your hand luggage?
Earplugs, eyemask and sleeping pills. I'm a hopeless sleeper on planes.
Are you a planner or last-minute packer?
Always last-minute, but I have everything sort of planned in my head ... okay, last-minute!
What's the best thing you've brought back from a trip?
Great memories of catching up with wonderful people I've met over the years.
Favourite or most exciting airport to land in?
Definitely flying among the buildings into the old airport in Hong Kong.
Best packing tip?
It's really silly, but I normally travel wearing comfortable footwear. When descending from altitude, your feet swell, so having easy footwear to slip into is a necessity.
Most memorable trip?
Twice in my life I've been upgraded to Concorde - spectacular!
What do you do while on the plane?
I pretty much follow a routine: champagne (for luck), read, movie, then sleep.
