This Sunday, Wellington celebrates Songkran, the Thai New Year Water Festival, in Civic Square, 10am-4pm. It features a Buddhist ceremony, traditional Thai dancing and a long-drum parade, sand pagodas, food stalls, fruit and vegetable carving demonstrations, tourism and information stalls, and exhibitions. Entry is free.
