Warbirds rule southern skies

Every second Easter, the skies above Wanaka fill with the roar of classic aircraft and stunning mid-air displays for Warbirds over Wanaka.

From March 29 to 31, the gates to Wanaka Airport will open at 7 am, with three-day adult passes available for $70. Daily passes range from $5 to $30, and a Gold Pass for the best seats and hospitality in the house is $220.

Lovingly restored fire engines, tractors and other machines make up the ground displays amid 50 food stalls, licensed booths and trade displays.
