Unsure what to do with your life in 2017? Do you have the travel bug but no funds to get you where you want to go? Discovery Channel might have just the solution — the company has launched a search for a Discovery Intern who will be given the opportunity to travel the world for free while documenting their adventures for Discovery Channel's social media channels and soon-to-be launched blog, Heaps Of Stuff.
Entry is open to New Zealand and Australian residents aged from 18 to 30 years, with the winner receiving a 39-day global internship holiday, beginning in Sydney, Australia, and taking in Singapore, Malaysia, England, Scotland, Iceland, the United States of America and Italy. The Discovery Intern will stay for up to eight days in each location and will also visit some of Discovery's overseas headquarters.
Discovery says it is a company dedicated to satisfying curiosity and it's looking for an intern who is "adventurous, creative and loves to travel". They will also need to be "armed with the skills to tell the story of a place through images, words and videos".
The total value of the internship prize is A$30,000, with the winner receiving economy flights from their nearest capital city to Sydney, Australia, and between the other destinations on their internship journey. Stays in 2- to 4-star accommodation at each location and basic travel insurance is also included, as is a daily spending allowance of A$100 and a smart device worth up to A$1000 with A$500 of data.
