KEY POINTS:
There's plenty happening on Waiheke Island this summer, and to make getting there easier SeaLink has a new weekend car and passenger ferry service from Wynyard Wharf at the Viaduct, in addition to the service from Half Moon Bay.
On Fridays the ferry leaves Wynyard Wharf at 8pm and departs Waiheke at 6.30pm and 9.30pm.
There are three return sailings on Saturday and Sunday. SeaLink can also arrange accommodation.
