Everything from Captain James Cook's days of discoveries to the sea journeys of the late Sir Peter Blake are explored in Te Papa's latest exhibition.
Voyagers: Discovering the Pacific opens at the museum in Wellington today. Described as "a journey of discovery focusing on the settlement of the Pacific Ocean", the exhibition allows visitors to explore the Pacific with great navigators and sailors, and understand the technologies and systems that supported these amazing voyagers.
A multimedia exhibition, Voyagers covers many cultures and a time span of more than 40,000 years.
The exhibition is in the Tower Gallery on Level 4 at Te Papa. Entry is $6.50 for adults and $4 for children, with family concessions available.
