United Airlines has resumed its daily Auckland-Melbourne return flights, departing for Melbourne each morning and returning early evening.
The daily Boeing 747-400 service means over 5000 additional seats will be made available to trans-Tasman travellers each week.
United will also be the only carrier across the Tasman to offer daily First Class service with all aircraft reconfigured in the new First Class Suite format by the end of July. First Class Suite enables passengers to rest on a two-metre long bed or set up an airborne office or entertainment zone complete with multiple video and audio channels.
United Airlines will continue to operate daily, non-stop services linking New Zealand with Los Angeles and beyond. However, the northbound flight to the United States will now depart Auckland in the early evenings rather than in the afternoon, permitting improved connections for travellers going to Europe.
United is also offering its E-Checkin facility to passengers departing from Auckland International Airport. By completing much of the check-in process online on United's web site prior to going to the airport, travellers can reduce check-in time. E-Checkin is exclusively available to United Airlines customers in New Zealand. It is being trialed here with a view to being implemented in other United destinations around the world.
