Passengers booking onto flights with the budget UK Airline Thomas Cook now have the option for 'sleeper seats' on its long haul routes.
The lie-down 'mattress' is available to book from the flat rate of £ 200 ($390) on top of a standard fare.
The option allows passengers to slot removable bedding between three middle seats of the Airbus A330 aircraft, transforming them into an economy-class bed.
The sleeper is already available on their Manchester to New York service.
The mattress dimensions given by the airline are 148.4 cm long by 67cm deep. This might be a slight squeeze given the average height in New Zealand is 177cm for men and 165cm for women.
However the airline insisted in an article forThe Sun that it would be a 'comfortable' fit for anyone under 180 cm.
Thomas Cook said that after take-off, passengers paying for the service will have their row of seats transformed into a bed.
Cabin crew will make up the mattress "with a fitted sheet, head rest, pillow, blanket and amenity kit. But no getting too comfy, as it's only one per passenger.
The airline's commercial director Henry Sunley laid out some of the logistics of the new sleeper seat bed, saying "while only one person can use Sleeper Seat at a time, you can swap with other people in your group during the flight…but it's entirely up to you if you want to share."
The sleeper seat is bookable now on Thomas Cook's long-haul transatlantic flights for passengers over 12 years of age.
