There's a good excuse for poor golf shots at Treasure Island Adventure Golf on Tom Pearce Drive near Auckland International Airport. Shark-infested waters, cascading waterfalls and haunted treasure caves are just some of the obstacles to overcome on two cleverly landscaped, 18-hole putting courses.
The Captain Kidd and Blackbeard courses are named after two of the most notorious pirates in history, and they can be a combined for a fun-filled 36-hole challenge.
There's free parking, wheelchair access to one course, and the course is floodlit for night golf.
Open daily 9am-10pm. Cost: 18 holes - adults $10, schoolchildren $8; 36 holes - adults $15, schoolchildren $12.
