Up to now only travel books and travel gadgets have run in this space but I think we might also add useful travel websites to the list.
My recent review of John Carroll's highly informative book Greek Pilgrimage (Scribe, $37) inspired reader Gail Orgias to send a note recommending the website "Matt Barrett's Guide to Greece" as another good option for information about Greece.
"It is excellent and has everything you will ever need to know about travel in Greece," she said, "including recommendations for taxi travel (George the Famous Greek Taxi Driver), accommodation, ferry travel, etc. It's updated regularly and if you have any personal queries Matt Barrett will answer them personally and at no cost."
I had a look - partly because I'm hoping to visit Greece myself later this year - and it is indeed a great source of both practical hints and the sort of historical background you need to fully appreciate somewhere like Greece.
If you're thinking of going there any time soon - and their economy needs our help - keep a note of the address: greecetravel.com.
