Home is where the heart is. I travel 30-35 weeks a year playing golf all over the world and love every minute of it, but my favourite holidays are coming back home to New Zealand. Getting to spend time with family and friends is awesome. I love nothing more than hooking my jetski up to the Holden with a bunch of fishing rods and a surfboard and heading to my parents' bach at Waihi Beach or my girlfriend's parents' bach in the Bay of Islands — you can't beat it.

I got a late start in the Spanish Open last year in Marbella, finding out I was in the tournament on Sunday morning when the tournament started on the following Thursday. After a mad rush to book flights and accommodation, I then had a 42-hour, four-flight journey from Auckland to Marbella. After a couple of days of bad golf, which wasn't helped by the jetlag, I missed the cut. I then had the reverse journey, which took 48 hours, only to be home for four days before having to head to China for another event. That can be an ugly side of professional golf.
