Actress Natalie Medlock loved her Botswana safari but found herself bonding with a friend for all the wrong reasons in India.

My greatest travel experience was on safari in Botswana. We would do dawn and dusk drives. We saw heaps of giraffes, elephants and hippos. We stayed in these flash tents and I drank rooibos tea for the first time. I also ate a termite for fun. Another travel highlight was the first time I went to Rome. St Peter's Basilica blew my tiny mind. Usually I really hate anything touristy, because I'm claustrophobic and queue averse, but the Sistine Chapel was worth the crush.

MISS

Worst / best trip was India with my mate Renee. She took the picture of me and my new friend Mr Cow. We got scammed and had the worst case of diarrhoea I have ever experienced. We were on a budget, so we shared a room. Let's just say it was a real bonding experience. It was pretty tough but we also saw some amazing things and had a life-changing experience. Primarily it made me really grateful for my birthright and to be living in New Zealand. I also smelt like curry.
