1000 Great Places to Travel with Kids in Australia by Anna Ciddor
Hardie Grant Books, $49.99
It's not always easy to travel with children (or grandchildren) because their needs and interests are rather different. But if you're planning on a hop across the Tasman this book should be a great help.
Unlike most writers on the topic, Anna Ciddor genuinely understands the sort of activities that interest kids, not to mention the need for suitable and reasonably priced places to stay and eat.
As a bonus she also throws in nutty facts and interesting challenges about each of the attractions to help make your visit a success.
The only disappointment is that the book focuses on Australia's main cities and tourist areas which means some of the great places I've been able to take my grandkids are excluded.
Maybe that's for the second edition.
