After nearly 50 years, London's transport
network again includes trams. The bright red and
white high-tech trams run 18km south of the
capital on Croydon's Tramlink system, offering a
speedy way to get around the area at about 80 km/h
on the off-street tracks.
There are plans to bring trams back to other
parts of London in an effort to cut down traffic
congestion.
